Her Excellency Adrienne Clarkson: Hickman Order

Tuesday, February 24, 2004
The Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson

Re: Your Order of Canada Appointment to T. Alex Hickman
Your Excellency:
It has come to my attention that on May 8th, 2003 you appointed T. Alex Hickman to the order of Canada. I take grave exception to this appointment because of the following information provided to me by Mr. Byron Prior, who contacted my Foundation for help through Logan's Pony Club web site.
In his letter he stated that;
"The Federal Government is allowing the credibility & reputation of the police & the legal system, to be destroyed to protect ONE corrupt lawyer, politician, judge & child rapist. This man has broken every law he swore to protect. Because this ex- Justice Minister and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court raped and impregnated my 11 year old sister, and covered it up his entire career, no one will help us. To this day, no lawyer will represent me and the legal system will do nothing to help. The last lawyer I asked to represent me, told me, if any lawyer tried to represent you, it would mean the end of their career. "
As the Constitution of the Order allows for termination of membership, I would like to officially make recommendation for termination to the Governor General and to the Advisory Council of the Order of Canada, chaired by the Chief Justice of Canada.
Respectfully,
